Hoonigan Built a One-of-One Porsche With Akira Nakai. Now It Could Be Yours

The first-ever Hoonigan x RWB Giveaway puts a hand-crafted Porsche 997 and $35,000 cash in one lucky winner's garage

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF. — HOONIGAN handed Akira Nakai, the legendary Porsche tuner and RAUH-Welt Begriff founder, their Porsche 911 and free rein to create a masterpiece live in front of fans. The result is a purpose-built machine named “Souseiki” and the grand prize in the first-ever RWB sweepstakes. One lucky winner gets to take it home plus $35,000 cash. Enter the HOONIGAN x RWB Giveaway now at Hoonigan.com/RWB.

The paddock-ready one-of-one Porsche 911 Carrera S RWB represents another first for HOONIGAN. Never before has the brand brought one of its iconic builds to life from start to finish in front of a live audience. Over two days, fans watched as Nakai transformed the 997 by hand, in his rough-world style, inspired by Japanese grassroots endurance racing.

Finished in Guards Red, Souseiki pairs Nakai's aggressive RWB widebody with custom Rotiform x RWB forged three-piece wheels, Yokohama ADVAN Apex tires and Bilstein coilovers. BBi Autosport hand-built a custom StreetCup harness bar and cat-back exhaust. OMP RT racing seats with six-point harnesses, a limited-release individually numbered 15th anniversary HOONIGAN x RWB steering wheel and matching shift knob complete the cockpit. Evolv's Clear Paint Protection Film helps preserve the finished car's exterior, with every intention of it living out its life as a driver's car.

The collaboration also reconnects HOONIGAN with a formative chapter in its history. In early 2011, Nakai built the first RWB Porsches in the United States and transformed HOONIGAN co-founder Brian Scotto's Porsche 964 Turbo into the iconic RWB aptly named “HOONIGAN.” That car became an early symbol of both brands' presence in enthusiast culture and introduced a generation of HOONIGAN fans to Nakai's approach to Porsche design. Years later, Nakai named this latest creation “Souseiki,” meaning “Genesis,” symbolizing the dawn of a new era and offering a fitting nod to the beginnings of HOONIGAN and RWB. As both brands celebrate their 15-year milestones, this new build carries that connection forward.

“Building this 911 with HOONIGAN brings back memories of Scotto's original car and how we started together,” said Akira Nakai, founder of RAUH-Welt BEGRIFF. “RWB has always been about more than how the cars look. At the Idlers 12 Hour, we drive them hard. We built this 997 with that same spirit, and I hope whoever wins it keeps that spirit alive—driving it hard and making their own memories.”

Stay tuned as the story continues through behind-the-scenes build content, limited-release HOONIGAN x RWB collaboration products and an upcoming documentary featuring Scotto, Nakai and Alexi Smith, showcasing RWB's early roots in Japanese motorsport and the Idlers 12-Hour endurance race. The film premieres on the HOONIGAN YouTube channel on Nov. 23 at 9 a.m. PT.

About HOONIGAN

About Hoonigan Media Machine
Hoonigan is much more than a brand. It's an automotive subculture, fueled on the shared passion of going fast and breaking things... then rebuilding them better than before. The company's signature brand of vehicular savagery is on full display across its network of YouTube channels, serving daily content to a subscription base numbering in the millions. In addition to daily videos and social media content, Hoonigan has long been the production and marketing outfit originally founded by Ken Block and Brian Scotto, and the media machine behind the award-winning series of viral videos, such as Gymkhana, Climbkhana, Terrakhana, and Electrikhana. At the heart of it all, however, is a wide-ranging apparel collection that (along with an authentically automotive-obsessed cast of characters) represents the brand's core ethos: Having fun with cars.
