BluePrint Engines Unveils CAL Automotive Creations’ Custom 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air at the 2026 SEMA Show
Powered by a BluePrint Engines 598-cubic-inch big-block-compatible V8, the custom Tri-Five blends extensively reshaped bodywork, precision-machined details and modern chassis engineering

LAS VEGAS — BluePrint Engines, has unveiled a custom 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air built by CAL Automotive Creations at the 2026 SEMA Show. Debuting during the company’s 12:30 p.m. press conference in Central Hall Booth #23243, the Bel Air pairs BluePrint’s 598-cubic-inch big-block-compatible V8 with extensive fabrication and craftsmanship from the Bennington, Nebraska-based builder.
Built for Josh Kilby of Gainesville, Georgia, the Chevrolet brings together design by EBDco and custom touches throughout its body, chassis, powertrain and interior. Its familiar Tri-Five silhouette conceals substantial engineering, with modifications that extend from the chassis rails to the machined exterior trim.
“A build like this brings together everything enthusiasts love about a custom car: timeless styling, exceptional craftsmanship and a serious engine under the hood,” said BluePrint Engines founder and CEO Norris Marshall. “CAL Automotive Creations has put an incredible amount of thought into every detail, and we’re proud to have our 598 big-block at the center of it.”
The BluePrint Engines 598-cubic-inch big-block-compatible V8 produces 741 horsepower and 703 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a Bowler automatic transmission. The engine is dressed with an EFI intake, custom-machined valve covers and an air cleaner by CAL Automotive Creations. A Concept One front drive assembly completes the engine’s accessory system, while CAL-fabricated stainless-steel headers and exhaust route through SpinTech mufflers.
Beneath the body, an Art Morrison chassis received extensive modifications by CAL to achieve the desired stance. Newly fabricated rear rails kick upward for a lower ride height, while raised center crossmembers keep chassis components above the scrub line. RideTech coilovers and six-piston Baer brakes provide the suspension and stopping hardware.
“The goal was to make every part of the car work together, from the stance and body lines to the engine compartment and interior,” said CAL Automotive Creations’ Andy Leach. “Some of the most involved changes are underneath the car or built into details you might not notice right away. That’s what makes a build like this rewarding, bringing all those individual pieces together into one cohesive car.”
The exterior features reshaped quarter panels complemented by billet-machined side trim, taillight bezels and a grille surround crafted by CAL Automotive Creations. CAL also completed the bodywork and paint, developing a custom color for the project. Nickel plating by Advanced Plating adds another layer of finish to the build’s metal details.
One-off wheels by Leading Edge Machine and Design measure 20x8 inches up front and 22x12 inches at the rear, completing the Bel Air’s stance. Inside, CAL Automotive Creations and Santana Interior Design created a custom cabin featuring a billet-machined center console, Dakota Digital instrumentation and Vintage Air climate control. CAL Machine also contributed additional machining.
The 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air will be on display in the BluePrint Engines booth throughout the SEMA Show, Nov. 3–6, 2026. For more information, visit www.BluePrintEngines.com.
